Convert to Vertical

The Convert to Vertical node transforms source videos or clips into a vertical aspect ratio using either automated reframing or static layout controls.

Users can choose from two reframing styles:

Content-Aware Reframing

• Automatically detects and highlights the most important content in the video.

Users can configure:

• Filming style, such as In-Person Studio or Online / with Overlays
• Split View for Multiple Speakers to show multiple participants at once
• Always Prefer Split View to prioritize split-screen layouts whenever possible

Static Reframing

• Creates a consistent vertical crop for the full video. Users can configure:
• Background Blur to fill unused space with a blurred version of the video
• Zoom Level to control how tightly the video is cropped
• Vertical Position to align the subject toward the top, center, or bottom of the frame

Once applied, the vertical version is passed downstream to other editing nodes like subtitles, music, smart zoom, or export nodes.
